How to remove Personal Antivirus rogue anti-spyware
Malware Description:
When it comes to computer security, Personal Antivirus is not a program you want to have in your system. The explanation is simple: Personal Antivirus is a rogue anti-spyware tool designed to deceive people into paying for its registered commercial software, no matter how illicit its tactics may be. Personal Antivirus propagates through backdoor Trojans or insecure downloads on the web. The latent intrusion is always followed by Personal Antivirus launching its misleading campaign on your computer. It means you will keep getting multiple alerts and scanners trying to get you alarmed about the security of your PC. Personal Antivirus pop-ups and scanners report infections that supposedly inhabit your machine. These deceitful techniques practised by Personal Antivirus are all about tricking you into downloading and registering the paid commercial version of Personal Antivirus. In reality, Personal Antivirus is not capable of removing any actual infections because it’s not developed on a legitimate antivirus engine. Therefore, purchasing Personal Antivirus is probably the most unreasonable to do. On the other hand, though, ignoring Personal Antivirus in your system will soon turn its obsessive pranks into a major system disruption and further malware invasion resulting in getting your privacy violated. Last but not least – there has appeared an updated version of Personal Antivirus – it’s called Alpha Antivirus. This new rogue is known to be exploiting the same fraudulent payment system, similar browser hijacking practices and inherited equally rapid propagation rate as compared with PAV infection. For the time being, Personal Antivirus and Alpha Antivirus are acting concurrently, so one should beware of Alpha Antivirus as well since it’s just as dangerous as its clone rogue. So it’s highly recommended to remove Personal Antivirus or Alpha Antivirus once you spot their signs on your computer.

to John Martin,
Sounds like Personal Antivirus is really going aggressive on you. Just a few more words about automatic removal – you can try installing Spyware Doctor on a different computer which is not infected and save it to a CD or other removable drive. Then, start the compromised PC in Safe Mode (just keep pressing F8 when booting) and install the removal tool from the CD in Safe Mode. It should work.
Concerning the manual removal recommendations, you can try spotting Personal Antivirus malicious files and registry entries using the Search option provided by Windows.
We hope you’ll soon have your PC cleaned!

I stupidly just “purchased” Personal Antivirus. Is my credit card info now at risk?
Amanda,
We can’t advise with 100% confidence, but your credit card data is probably safe – the worst thing is that you’ve wasted some of your money for a worthless and potentially dangerous rogue anti-spyware (Personal Antivirus). It’s recommended to remove Personal Antivirus before it plays havoc with your system and disrupts it.
Thanks for your question!

Sir/madam
thank you for your assistance in removing the pav antivirous program
thank you again
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaroach
I got the Spyware doctor up and At the moment i am scanning my computer, And i didnt see anything say about Personal anti virus but it does say Trojan.Fakealert. Is that it?
Jon,
Trojan.FakeAlert is a cyber-infection that triggers misleading and exaggerated popup notifications about threats which are allegedly found on your computer (but which are actually NOT there). Such activity of Trojan.FakeAlert aims to encourage you to install and purchase Personal Antivirus rogue anti-spyware.
Therefore, you may not have PAV on board yet but Trojan.FakeAlert is trying to spoof you into downloading it.
Anyway, it’s advised to remove Trojan.FakeAlert infection ASAP.
Regards,
Remove Malware team
is the removal tool 100% effective..?
Sandy,
Yes, our automatic remover works perfectly for Personal Antivirus removal. Please, note that before using the removal tool it’s recommended to do the following:
- Empty your Temporary Internet Files through the web browser options;
- Make sure you download the current (latest) version of the remover;
Sometimes, it may be required to run the automatic removal tool in Safe Mode with Networking (it’s accessed by repeatedly pressing F8 key when the PC starts) for more precise detection and effective removal of the malware.
Thank you for your question!

To “me” above :)
You can choose to remove PAV malware manually or use our automatic remover.
If you do it manually, the malicious files and registry values you need to delete are listed above. But before that make sure you back up all important data to prevent its possible loss if manual interference with the system goes wrong.
If you do not have good PC troubleshooting skills, we recommend using the automatic removal tool to get rid of Personal Antivirus.
It’s up to you which method you try. Both are effecive.
Regards
RM Team
Simone,
The symptoms you’ve described are inherent to pretty much any rogue anti-spyware. First, the rogue tricks you into installing it (or gets in without your awareness) and then prevents you from removing it. Typically, you will fail to find fake anti-spywares in the Add/Remove Programs GUI on your comptuer and the badware may as well keep you from going online.
Unless removed, PAV will gradually deteriorate the PC performance.
Thanks for your question!
RM Team
Dezi,
You should stick strictly to the removal instructions in our post above.
If PAV is preventing you from going online, try downloading the removal tool in Safe Mode with Networking, it should work out. Please, read the info in the post and look through the comments to find additional information on Personal Antivirus removal.
Good luck getting your PC fixed!
Regards,
RM Team
arrrrrrggghhhh i hate this pav thingy!!!!!!!!!11
i cant surf anything on the net it always says continue unprotected or install this damn thing…
is your pav remover effective????
Mark,
Pertaining to the web-surfing problems you are experiencing – it’s the browser-hijacking trouble caused by PAV trojans that redirect your online activities. Removing Personal Antivirus scareware will resolve the issue.
Concerning your question about the pav remover effectiveness – our tool IS capable of eliminating Personal Antivirus rogue anti-spyware and the related infections (hijackers and trojans). Before using the remover, make sure you delete Temporary Internet Files and clear the cookies – this will facilitate the removal procedure.
Thanks for your comment,
RM Team
i get personal antivirus from malicious web.
every 5 second my windows appears “Critical System Warning”!
it’s very annoying!
thanks for the removal.
I was one of those that downloaded this monstrosity thinking that I NEEDED it… what a mistake. It had been pretty quiet until yesterday, when it was effectively blackmailing me, not letting me into my frequented sites, blocking with the red warning screen, unless I sent them another $60. I downloaded and ran your program this morning and so far so good… THANK YOU!
I will reccomend your program to anyone that needs it.
~Anna B
Looks like I spoke too effin’ soon…. I was JUST looking at a blog site and the screen went blank with a header across the top saying the site was possibly infected and could harm my comoputer… brought to me by no other than my friendly Personal Antivirus.
NOW WHAT??? I used your program this morning! I DO NOT have any more money to pay ANY ONE. HELP!
~Anna
My symptoms aren’t as bad as previous ones described by some others above me, I just get the Windows emergency Balloon often. Other than that, It doesn’t restrict access because I haven’t purchased anything.
I installed this personal antivirus and I didn’t know that I’ll be charged. I didn’t activate it because I didn’t want to purchase. I tried to uninstall this and it won’t let be. I went on control panel, clicked on programs and clicked on uninstall a program and it’s not listed on this task. How do you uninstall this personal antivirus?
Cesar
Cesar,
Since Personal Antivirus is not a legitimate program, it’s not listed on the Add/Remove Programs interface, nor it it removable through the routine uninstall option. You need to use a trusted security tool to remove PAV infection. Or, as an alternative, you can try to remove it manually by finding and deleting its corrupt files and registry values.
Please, read our post carefully and (optionally) review people’s comments to learn all the details of Personal Antivirus removal.
RM
I accidentally installed Personal Antivirus, It won’t let me go anywhere on the internet. (I typed this on my brother’s computer)
I unfortunately was one of the ones, who out of fear purchased PAV. I was able to get rid of it, but want my money back! Has anyone been able to do so?? Has anyone been able to talk to someone on their “support line” or does it always go to voicemail? Is there no hope on getting a refund? :(:(
am the personal anti virus thing doesnt do any harm to my computer rite its just annoying rite?
Dawn,
Personal Antivirus is not only annoying. It usually slows down that compromised computer and makes it vulnerable to outer threats. Besides, PAV rogue almost always comes bundled with more malware.
Thanks
I am downloading it right now. I hope it works. The stupid thing won’t let me go on 99 percent of all the websites in the world!!!
god bless you
THANK YOU!!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

hello
the personal anti virus is slowing down my computer, and i have downloaded the link above. However once downloaded the spyware doctor will not let me get the update needed. what should i do?
Sanjit,
We recommend you to try updating the remover in Safe Mode with Networking (it’s accessed via pressing F8 key repeatedly when your PC is starting). In Safe Mode, Personal Antivirus rogueware shouldn’t prevent the removal tool from getting updated.
Thanks for your comment!
Regards,
RM
