Thank you for this information. This rogue program attempts to pretend that it is a genuine Microsoft® security program as it uses the same icons like in Microsoft® Vista!!! It popped up with a message box:

Your computer can be infected with spying programs (spyware) …etc…

Then it showed different warnings and infected files on my computer and confirmation buttons that end with a form to enter credit card checkout for a total of 74.50 $. I did not buy, but the activation request keeps on opening.

This is exactly what I have been battling for 4 days in Windows XP, only mine is called TSC, Total Security…I have tried everything that I can locate to manually evict it and I can’t. It will not allow me to msconfig nor delete it from the HKLM file.. cannot use system restore or recovery, it has locked up every avenue I have tried.. cannot get it out using task master or Root Repeal.. I even emailed the damn company and was told to paste the program address in my Explorer address bar and click delete..that was a laugh…tried it 3 times and it’s still on the computer.. I guess all I can hope for is to haul it to someone who can professionally remove it as I can’t. I am burned out trying.
